Here at your Oklahoma RV dealer, we have all the tools you need to keep your RV as clean as possible. Don’t hesitate to give us a call with any questions you have about cleaning the inside and outside of your home away from home.
Exterior Cleaning
Clean the outside of your RV regularly to avoid mold and excess dirt buildup. You can use a mixture of white vinegar and warm water to clean your RV exterior, or purchase a special product like Black Streak Remover for really difficult cleaning jobs. A pressure washer is an effective and quick way to clean the outside of your RV without using harsh chemicals.
Interior Cleaning
Treat the inside of your RV like you would your home. Clean the floors regularly and keep cabinets clean of dirt, food crumbs, and other debris. Don’t forget blinds, baseboards, windows, and bathrooms. Here at Dean’s we carry products that are specially formulated for air ducts, carpet, upholstery, glass, and vinyl, as well as several different multipurpose cleaners for your RV.
Wastewater Tanks
Wastewater tank cleaning is another important task for RV owners. Your RV has a gray water tank, which holds water from your kitchen, bathroom, and shower, as well as a black water tank for your toilet. You can purchase special products to clean your holding tanks or use a mixture of bleach and water. Never use products that contain formaldehyde to clean your wastewater tanks.
With regular cleaning, your RV will be a comfortable place to live. Be sure to take your RV in for regular maintenance to ensure that your home away from home lasts as long as possible. Happy camping!

Spring is a popular time for home spring cleaning, so don’t forget about your second home. Spring is also prime time for using your motor homes and travel trailers in Oklahoma.

Electrical Servicing
Be sure that all your RV’s electricity is in working order before you take off on a spring camping trip. Check all the interior electrical sockets, lights and any accessories that may use electricity to ensure that they work. Be sure to also check the generator and the breaker panel to make sure that everything is in working order. If you have any questions about your RV’s electricity, don’t hesitate to come into Dean’s and speak with one of our certified RV technicians.
Plumbing Servicing
If you haven’t used your RV in awhile, make sure that all the plumbing works. Hook your RV up to a water source and slowly turn on all the faucets inside your RV. If you used antifreeze on your RV, make sure that you flush it out of all your pipes. You might also want to sanitize your water system and drain your grey water pump before you use your RV. If your RV water heater is in bypass mode, readjust the valves, fill the heater and test all your hot water sources.
Cleaning
Check all the sealings, door hinges, seams, and awnings for mold or other damage, and clean all your RV surfaces thoroughly. Don’t forget to inspect the interior for signs of insects and other pests. Open all the vents and let your RV air out while you do a thorough cleaning of the inside.
Anticipate your spring and summer camping trips by cleaning out your RV when the weater warms up. Contact your Oklahoma RV dealer with any concerns or questions.

The Access sleeps up to 10 people and comes with a variety of upgrade options including a full paint job and a choice of two different chassis.
The Access is just over 32 feet long, and with two slides, provides plenty of space for a large family or group of friends. It has a queen bed, two bunks, the overhead bunk; and the dinette and sofa fold down into beds for two. Keep warm on cooler days and nights with the 30,000 BTU furnace.
This motor home has a hitch weight of 5,000 pounds so you can tow a car or a trailer for toys and extra storage. It also holds plenty of water — the fresh water capacity is 42 gallons. The gray water and black water capacities are 39 and 30 gallons, respectively.
The Access is not shy about hits powerhouse. It features a 6.8-liter V10 engine that puts out 305 horsepower, backed up by a TorqShift five-speed automatic transmission. The engine sits on a Ford 350 or 450 chassis. You can choose from two standard or three deluxe colors for the outside, and three colors for the inside. Spring has come early to most of the country, so summer can’t be too far behind, and that means it’s time to hit the beach! For us RVers, that means loading up our motor homes and driving to our favorite scenic stretch of shoreline. For those of you who don’t have a favorite beach campsite yet, let me share a couple of personal favorites.

If you’re looking to see the Gulf of Mexico, you can’t go wrong with Henderson Beach State Park near Destin, Florida. With over 6,000 feet of white sand beaches, there’s plenty of opportunities to swim, fish, surf or just work on your tan. You can camp in a tent or stay in your motor home or trailer (hopefully purchased from your favorite Oklahoma RV dealer). There are water and electric hookups and a heated bathhouse on site for your comfort and convenience.
On the other side of Florida, the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park features a swimming and sunning beach and a snorkeling beach, complete with the remnants of a shipwreck. This is an actual undersea park that extends three miles out into the water. There are 47 camp sites for both RVs and tents. There are hookups for water and electric included and there are laundry facilities and restrooms with showers on the grounds.
If the West Coast is more your idea of a good time, try Doran Beach Regional Park, just south of Bodega Bay, California, just a two hour drive from San Francisco. There are 128 spaces to park your RV, but there are no electric or water hook ups, so it’s best to bring your fully self-sufficient RV, like a Coachmen Catalina or the Keystone Springdale. In addition to normal beach activities, there is a fire ring, picnic tables and a boat launch.
On the East Coast, Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts is the place to be. The 3.8 mile stretch of beach is one of the most popular in the state. RV owners are welcome to swim, fish, boat and camp on the grounds. There are 484 campsites, all of which have water and electric hookups.
These are just some of the fine options available to you if you want to take your RV to a beach campsite. Just pack your swimsuit, your fishing pole and your metal detector (or is that just me) and go have the time of your life!

Restoring an older motor home or upgrading a used RV in Oklahoma can be a great project for anyone with some basic carpentry skills. The bathroom is often the first part of a motor home to show wear and age. Older models often lack the spacious bathtubs and efficient toilets than newer models feature. Upgrading your RV bathroom can be a quick weekend project that has big results.
Finding Bathroom Parts
Before you rush out and buy your favorite faucet or toilet from a home improvement store, remember that RV bathrooms are small. Most RV manufacturers build the pipes and fixtures to take advantage of the limited space. Visit an Oklahoma RV dealer to find specialty parts and fixtures that will fit your RV perfectly.
A New Toilet
Many RVs come with a plastic toilet that grows brittle and weak as the years pass. Plenty of other options are available:
Experts suggest looking for an RV toilet with a china base and bowl construction. These RV toilets are easier to clean than the plastic variety that come standard in most RVs, and they’ll last longer too.
When you upgrade your RV toilet, look for a space-saving, full-sized model, and one that can use regular-sized toilet seats. This way you won’t have to special order a replacement seat if you need one in the future. – Camping World
The installation process is practically identical to the steps for adding a new toilet to your home. If you don’t mind some basic plumbing you can have a new toilet in your RV with just a little work.
Shower In Style
New showers take a little bit more work, but are still easier than remodeling a full bathroom in a house. One piece shower surrounds are used in all modern RVs to ensure moisture doesn’t reach the frame or walls of the room. Removing an old or cramped shower surround may require replacement of waterproof membranes behind the surround. Once the bathroom area is waterproof again, the new acrylic or fiberglass shower stall is slid into place and sealed to the wall.
Alternatives To Upgrading
If your current RV bathroom is out of order but you don’t have the time or skills for an upgrade, visit Dean’s RV Superstore to check out our options for new and used motor homes. We can find something that fits your budget with a spacious and well-appointed bathroom.

Now that you’ve purchased your new RV from an Oklahoma RV dealer, you’re almost ready to go on your first trip. Whether you have a toy hauler, fifth wheel or motor home, there are some things that can make your trip better.
Tip #1: Most RVs come with two propane tanks. If your tanks do not have a gauge on them, simply turn one off and leave the other one on. When the first tank runs out, remove it and fill it, then turn the other tank on. This is especially useful if you are camping during the cooler months and do not want to run out of propane in the middle of the night… because that is when it will inevitably happen. And, it will pick the coldest night for you to run out.
Tip #2: If you are going to be camping where you need to use the fresh water storage tanks, hook up to a garden hose before you leave. Allow the taps in the RV to run for at least 10 minutes before filling the holding tanks. Since the water is clean, you can let it run back out onto the ground. If you are going to be hooking up at the campsite, you should run the taps in the RV for 10 minutes after you’ve hooked up, so that the plumbing is rinsed.
Tip #3: Freeze the meat you want to take on the trip, then pack it in a cooler with ice. When you get to your destination, transfer still-frozen meat to the freezer and put anything that has thawed into the fridge. You can keep the cooler filled with ice for soft drinks. A good cooler will keep ice for up to a week, even in 90-degree temperatures, if the cooler is stored in the shade.

Live in comfort on your trips, whether taking a long weekend trip or driving across the country.
Tip #4: When purchasing chemicals for your black water tank, make sure you purchase the chemicals that dissolve toilet paper. Some chemicals are for deodorizing only. Check the instructions on the chemicals — you can use household toilet paper with some, though it is not recommended.
Tip #5: Always check all lights before you leave, even if the RV is brand new. The connection between the tow vehicle and the RV could have bad wiring or it could be loose. Even a new connection should be checked every time you tow the vehicle.
